About Me - Coolice RC Helicopter Flight School

My name is Ian Contessa, you may have already heard of me from the online helicopters forums.  
For those of you that haven't, below is a little insight into my modelling history.

I have been flying RC models now for over 37 years, both fixed & rotary wing and in that time have owned a varied selection of models ranging from micro electrics, to full on competition F3C to 3D machines and even turbine powered models! Throughout the years I have gained experience in FAI F3C & 3D competitions, in the past regularly competing in the British Nationals and also attending many model shows and events.

I am sponsored in the UK by Robbe SchluterUK, flying the Align range of machines & Midland Helicopters.

Due to being in the hobby for a great many years I have vast experience of being able to setup an RC model without the aid of a computer radio, a skill which nowadays makes for a much nicer flying model combining the best of both old and new techniques.

In more recent years I have gained a lot of experience in flybarless models, with the Align 3G & 3GX being a speciality and I currently fly Mikado Vbar's on my larger machines. Throough the school I have gained experience with other FBL unit's as well.
